Modernist Poems.

Respected sir, In the modernist poem we have to go deep in the inside of the poem to identify the aaqaqaqmetaphors in the poem. But in the modernist poem, poet uses metaphors without realizing it. At first glance, we can’t able to find metaphors in the poems. The aim of the poet to Use metaphors in the poem is to make the writing more interesting and helping the reader to understand what the poet is trying to convey. Here I try to identify some metaphors which are used in the poems. The Embankment – T. E. Hulme . Once, in finesse of fiddles found I ecstasy, In a flash of gold heels on the hard pavement. Now see I That warmth’s the very stuff of poesy. Oh, god, make small The old star-eaten blanket of the sky, That I may fold it round me and in comfort lie . Paraphrase of the poem i .e London’s Embankment, ‘A fallen gentlement’ reflects on his past and how he found pleasure in worldly social activity is describe in the poem. Use of fallen...

Review of Reluctant Fundamentalist.

Respected sir, The second movie is “The Reluctant Fundamentalist” directed by Mira Niar and written by Mohsin Hamid. Writer himself comes from Pakistan so depiction of history of Pakistan and it relation with U.S we find in the movie plot. The movie deals with American history and 9/11 attack here we also find politics that the impact of al -Qaida and its connection with attack on twins tower. And story revolves round around Pakistan and Changez Khan. Symbolically if we try to look at the things that Pakistan consider as terrorist country and Changez represented Muslim identity. We know that story of Changez Khan begins in the year before terrorist attacks on the world trade centre. Here we find two locations in the film that one is Lahore and second one is New York. Political backgrounds we find in the history of both country that I like to put here, prior to attack on world trade centre. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were supporters of Taliban in Afghanistan. Pakistan...

Review of Midnight Children

Respected sir , In context to postcolonial studies we watched two movies in context to postcolonial study. It helps us to get clear idea about the basic concept of postcolonialism, and here I try to justify my views as review of these two movies. In postcolonial study we have gone through different topics like race, colonialism, gender, politics and language that all has deep connection with postcolonial studies. It also related with the power of hegemony and the mindset of the people. And these all points are there in the movies so let’s see and try to identify the depiction of postcolonialism in the movies like ‘Midnight’s Children’ and the second one is ‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’. If we minutely observe that two films has so many similar topics like freedom struggle, love for nation, hybridizations of language and culture, colonialism, politics, hegemonic power structure, repetition of history, symbols of rising sun after war and wheels as time. And we find Use of flas...

My views on three questions on the poem 'The Wasteland'.

Respected sir, 1) Yes, Eliot is regressive as compared to Nietzche. Because we can find him more progressive rather than Eliot in his thinking. Nietzche has believed in concept of ‘Ubermensch’- Superman/Overman. Depiction of  ‘Overman’ concentrates in self only. He does not believes in the concept of ‘Life after death.’ He also concentrating on the real world rather than on the rewards of the next world promised by religion. So it is clear that he has no rely on any mysticism. Then he also believes in it that he is the only one who is the creator of his own life. So his concept of Overman is self centered rather than beyond the self. And in the opposite side Eliot believes in spirituality and religion. And he uses myths and history to justify his answer. He has also believes in that the present and future also has some connection with past. In the poem ‘The Wasteland’, we can find some history and  mythical elements  that Eliot has taken from different religion like H...

My views on deconstruction

Deconstruction is a way of understanding how something was created, usually things like art, books, poems and other writing. Deconstruction is breaking something down into smaller parts. Sometimes deconstruction looks at how an author can imply things he does not mean. It says that because words are not precise, we can never know what an author meant. Sometimes deconstruction looks at the things the author did not say because he made assumptions. In deconstruction one thing that play a vital role is binary opposition. It says that two opposites like "good" and "bad" are not really different things. "Good" only makes sense when someone compares it to "bad," and "bad" only makes sense when someone compares it to "good." And so even when someone talks about "good," they are still talking about "bad." Being a post structuralist critic I would like to say that post structuralism the reaction again the st...

structuralism.

Structuralism is a method or approach of interpretation and analysis that helps us to  understand the basic structure of it. If we see the skeleton of different  religious people there is no slight different in structure of skeleton. In this way if we take any literary text, movie or any literary serials or reality shows they shows reality in different way but the structure to show that is the same.  Being  a  structuralist critic I would like to say that structuralism is a starting point for reading literature than are other approaches because fictionality does not have to be shown that inherent in the text, but in the way it is read. It explains how the sentence can different meaning depending on the genre in which it appears. But the  basic structure of the text can not change from age to age. In every text we can find beginning , middle, and the ends. No matter how the text belongs to any genre.  We may apply structuralism in literary text th...
